Role Objective
We are seeking a highly skilled and registered Medical Assistant to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. This role is designed for a professional with a strong foundation in both clinical support and laboratory diagnostics, capable of providing high-quality patient care while managing essential administrative functions within a high-volume hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Support: Prepare patients for examination, record comprehensive medical histories, and assist physicians in procedures such as suture removal and injections.
Laboratory & Diagnostics: Conduct 20+ daily routine laboratory tests, including urinalysis and blood sample collection, utilizing advanced biochemical and molecular biology techniques.
Patient Advocacy: Communicate complex treatment procedures and prescription instructions to patients, and lead education efforts on public health initiatives like vaccinations.
Administrative Management: Coordinate patient scheduling, manage billing, authorize repeat prescriptions, and maintain meticulous electronic medical records.
Sanitation & Safety: Oversee the sterilization of clinical equipment and the proper disposal of contaminated materials to maintain hospital safety standards.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Biomedical Sciences or a related field (University of Nairobi preferred).
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting (e.g., Queen Elizabeth Hospital or similar).
Certifications: Must hold active certifications such as Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) and Certified Coding Specialist (CCS-P).
Technical Expertise: Proficiency in Telehealth platforms, X-ray preparation, and laboratory equipment management.
Core Competencies: Strong understanding of Anatomy, Physiology, Pharmacology, and Molecular Biology.
