Summary

House of Nyama is a newly opened retail chain from QMP Ltd. specializing in high-quality meat products. We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Retail Manager to oversee the efficient and profitable operations of our retail shops. The Retail Manager will be responsible for implementing sales strategies, managing inventory, ensuring staff efficiency, and maintaining high standards of customer service.

Description

Develop and Execute Sales Strategies:

  • Formulate pricing and sales strategies to maximize profitability while staying competitive in the market.
  • Plan and execute promotions and discounts to attract customers and boost sales.

Sales and Inventory Management:

  • Forecast and set targets for sales and gross profit in alignment with budgeted goals.
  • Monitor and review product costing based on proposed yields and recipes to optimize profitability.
  • Analyze deboning yields and recipe outcomes to enhance operational efficiency.

Operational Oversight:

  • Supervise day-to-day operations at all retail shops, ensuring smooth functioning and adherence to company standards.
  • Approve daily expenses and maintain accurate record-keeping.

Inventory Control:

  • Monitor stock movement to prevent overstocking and stockouts, optimizing stock holding.
  • Focus on stock rotation and approve stock wastage as required.

Equipment and Asset Management:

  • Oversee the management of butchery assets, tools, and equipment, ensuring timely servicing and custody.
  • Provide staff training on equipment usage and safety protocols.

Auditing and Reporting:

  • Conduct daily stock audits, temperature reviews, and cash counts to maintain accuracy in transactions and reporting.
  • Prepare monthly sales and profitability reports (gross profit and net profit) for management review.

Staff Management/HR:

  • Manage staff working times and behaviour, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Conduct daily staff briefs and routine training sessions to improve performance.
  • Handle staff disciplinary issues, following correct procedures, and promoting a harmonious work environment.
  • Participate in the recruitment and termination process for butchery staff.
  • Conduct staff performance reviews on a quarterly basis.

Hygiene and Compliance:

  • Maintain high levels of hygiene in all outlets and create a safe working environment for staff and customers.
  • Ensure that all shops possess necessary trading licenses to meet legal requirements.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, sales, marketing, or any related field?

  • Proven experience as a Retail Manager or similar role in the meat retail industry.
  • Strong understanding of sales and inventory management techniques.
