The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail:

Aligning syllabuses to assessments;
Developing assessment regulations and guidelines;
Training and recruiting setters and moderators;
Preparation of assessment timetables;
Coordinating development of assessment tools/papers;
Analyzing assessment test items/papers and preparing feedback reports;
Conducting performance appraisal of officers in the department;
Capacity building of teacher trainers in assessment;
Coordinating pre-testing of test items;
Preparing and implementing approved departmental work plan, procurement plan, and budget;
Coordinating validation of marking schemes during marking;
Developing and implementing effective risk management strategies;
Chairing Course and awards Panel meetings;
Ensuring security and confidentiality of all examination/assessment materials;
Advising the Director, Test Development on any issues relating to test development.

Person Specifications
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

At least twelve 12 years cumulative relevant work experience, five 5 of which should have served at a management level;
Bachelor's Degree in Education from a recognized institution OR Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline plus a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from a recognized institution;
Master's Degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution;
Management Course lasting not less than four 4 weeks from a recognized institution.
Demonstrated competence and merit in work performance;
Proficiency in computer applications;
Fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution only for the successful applicants.
