Summary

Our client is a PR firm of experienced professionals with a proven track record in delivering effective communication campaigns across Africa. They help businesses achieve their goals through creative and results-oriented PR campaigns, and they seek to hire an accounts manager. The Account Manager (AM) will be the secondary account relationship owner responsible for the client account, which includes relationship, and reputational management on the account. 

Description

Key responsibilities & accountabilities:

Relationship Management:

  1. Owner of the client relationship at a client account/s.
  2. Grow and nurture the relationship between client and agency, becoming a partner who makes a positive impact on our business and theirs. 
  3. Responsible for maintaining, building, and improving good relationships with clients and driving efficient ways of working. 
  4. Effectively handle all required aspects of client communications at the project level identified.
  5. Manage client queries, expectations, and requirements.
  6. Have a good understanding of the client team and the client’s business, products, and services.
  7. Understanding the key stakeholders, customers and new audience’s client wants to engage.
  8. Understanding key changes, challenges, and opportunities within your client’s business, driving a culture of creativity, and impacting the client teams.

Project and Account Management: 

  1. Actively manage project timelines.
  2. Organise and manage internal agency teams, keeping them updated with the latest developments and opportunities within the account.
  3. Driving alignment and good governance. 
  4. Developing reporting including contact reports, status reports, monthly reports
  5. Monitor media for client–relevant issues and recommend proactive actions.
  6. Provide media analysis and competitor reports.
  7. Develop messaging, crafting press releases, opinion articles, and digital content that is PR specific.
  8. Coordinate and execute press engagements.
  9. Develop compelling media angles aligned with current discourse.
  10. Coordinate and execute client events when the need arises.

 

Education
  • Relevant degree in communications/ business management or any related field.
More Details on Experience
  • More than 3 years of agency experience, and over 7 years of overall experience.
  • Digital experience will be beneficial.
  • ATL and BTL experience beneficial, but not essential.
More Details on Skills
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Good writing and delivery skills relating to internal and external communication.
  • Excellent media network that leads to the publication of client stories.
  • Solid presentation skills at a Marketing Manager and Brand Manager level. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Solid time management and organizational skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interpret client feedback and debriefs. 
  • Good understanding of local business operations.
  • Good understanding and experience in the PR and media space.
Terms And Conditions
  • This role is a hybrid role.
  • Given the nature of the industry, the AM may be called upon to work outside of the normal office hours and on weekends when necessary.
  • Expected gross salary Ksh80,000 (negotiable).
