The Workshop Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring efficient service delivery, optimal resource utilization, and high-quality customer service. This role includes managing staff, equipment, compliance, and reporting, while also supporting the achievement of sales and productivity targets.

Responsibilities
- Receive and act on instructions from customer service staff regarding service and repair needs.
 - Prepare accurate job cards aligned with the customer’s requested products or services.
 - Ensure correct products and parts are obtained from the store prior to commencement of work.
 - Instruct workshop personnel on specific tasks to be executed for each job.
 - Allocate duties, tools, equipment, and other resources to workshop staff to ensure optimal efficiency and customer satisfaction.
 - Cross-sell company products and services by promoting their benefits and offering complimentary vehicle inspections.
 - Ensure all services are provided professionally and efficiently, maintaining high-quality standards.
 - Monitor staff performance and task execution to drive improvements in productivity.
 - Oversee the induction and training of new employees within the workshop.
 - Track and support the achievement of workshop sales targets.
 - Maintain and nurture positive relationships with customers, ensuring satisfaction and repeat business.
 - Maintain and regularly update the inventory of all tools, equipment, and company assets used in the department.
 - Ensure full compliance with Environmental Health & Safety regulations by all workshop staff.
 - Report and appropriately manage any incidents or accidents occurring in the workshop.
 - Oversee the maintenance and servicing of all company vehicles used in operations.
 - Maintain detailed service records for all departmental equipment.
 - Keep the Branch Manager informed of any operational challenges, resource needs, or performance issues within the department.
 - Prepare and submit monthly reports including job card summaries, training activities, and equipment servicing logs to the Branch Manager.
 - Oversee the proper and environmentally responsible disposal of scrap and/or contaminated items.
 - Perform any other duties or responsibilities as assigned by the Branch Manager.
 
Key competencies needed for the Job:
- Diploma/Degree in Automotive or Mechanical Engineering
 - 2 to 3 years of experience in a workshop or service management role.
 - Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
 - Strong understanding of workshop operations, safety standards, and customer service practices.
