Supply Chain Manager Job

Job Summary

  • Our client is a company registered in South Sudan, dealing in healthcare product supply, including the supply of medical equipment, surgical supplies, hospital furniture, laboratory equipment, diagnostic reagents, medical consumables, and hospital linen. They are seeking highly skilled personnel to fill the position of Supply Chain Manager in South Sudan. In this role, the candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the supply chain, including procurement, logistics, inventory management and distribution.
  • The Job will involve coordinating the movement of goods from suppliers to all the sales points, optimizing of transportation routes, selecting logistics providers, manage warehousing and distribution centers, and tracking shipments to ensure on-time delivery and to reduce supply chain related costs. The Supply Chain Manager will oversee the entire supply chain process, from sourcing of goods, managing the chain up-to our final point of sale.
  • The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record of success in supply chain management.

Duties and Responsibilities.

  • Establish a strong relationship with key suppliers, negotiate contracts, monitor supplier performance, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality goods and services.
  • Negotiating with suppliers and customers for best prices, payment terms, and delivery timelines
  • Warehousing process optimization including guidance on warehouse best practices
  • Maximum supervision of activities across the supply chain to achieve acceptable lead time.
  • Identifying and implementing sustainable and less resource-intensive supply chain solutions
  • Vendor management and new vendor development/supplier pre-qualification.
  • Supply chain risk management, identifying all existing and forecasted threats within the supply chain and seeking practical solutions to mitigate them.
  • Keeping abreast of current trends in volatile variables of the supply chain.
  • Acting as an advisory for product development and coordinating changes in products/processes
  • Adopting and complying with industry standards and best practices
  • Looking out for ways to reduce supply chain costs while improving service quality
  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies to optimize efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to forecast demand and ensure timely sourcing and delivery of goods.
  • Monitor and analyze supply chain performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain through reduced delivery lead-time.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve supply chain issues and ensure smooth operations.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in supply chain management.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

Requirements and skills.

  • Leadership Skills and Team management.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and Collaboration.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders in Critical thinking and Team management.
  • Previous experience as a supply chain manager or in a similar field.
  • Proven experience in supply chain management, with a track record of success in optimizing operations and reducing costs and Lead time.
  • Computer skills including any supply chain software knowledge.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Presentation and training skills.
  • A strategic and analytical mind.

Education and other Experience requirements.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, logistics or Business.
  • Relevant certificates and training in Supply Chain and Logistics Management.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical supply Chain is required.
  • 10 Years of experience in supply chain management, procurement and Logistics.
