Job Description
- The Senior Principal, Lecturer II KEWI 4 reports to the Senior Principal Lecturer I KEWI 3.
Duties and responsibilities in any of the areas listed below: -
- Coordinating the review of teaching/learning materials and schemes of work;
- Coordinating lecturing in the area of specialization in accordance with the syllabus;
- Facilitating supervision of trainees’ projects and practical work;
- Conducting research and publishing papers, proposals, journal articles and books;
- Implementing guidelines for students with special needs;
- Preparing students progress reports;
- Conducting student academic mentorship programmes;
- Developing and maintaining class registers;
- Contributing to professional conferences and seminars; and
- May be assigned to perform the role of subject coordinator.
Person Specifications
- For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -
- Served for a cumulative period of twelve 12 years relevant work experience three 3 of which must have been in the grade of Principal Lecturer II or in a comparable position;
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant lecturing field in Hydrology or its equivalent qualification from a recognized University;
- Master’s degree in a relevant lecturing field in any of the following disciplines:
- Hydrology or its equivalent qualification from a recognized University;
- Certificate in Training of Trainers TOT course lasting not less than six 6 months in a recognized Institutions;
- Membership to a relevant professional body and in good standing where applicable;
- A valid practicing certificate where applicable;
- Leadership Course lasting not less than four 4 weeks from a recognized Institution;
- Proficiency in computer applications; and
- Shown merit, integrity and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
