Job Description

• The Senior Lecturer, KEWI 6 reports to the Principal Lecturer, KEWI 5.

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -

• Developing and implementing curriculum and training manuals;
• Reviewing teaching/learning materials and schemes of work;
• Lecturing in the area of specialization in accordance with the syllabus;
• Setting and marking examinations/assignments;
• Carrying out research work on area of specialisation;
• Implementing guidelines for students with special needs;
• Preparing students progress reports;
• Conducting student academic mentorship programmes;
• Developing and maintaining class registers; and
• Developing and implementing new methods of instruction.

Person Specifications

• For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -
• Served for a cumulative period of six 6 years relevant work experience three 3 of which must have been in the grade of Lecturer I or in a comparable position;
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or its equivalent qualification from a recognised University;
• Certificate in Training of trainers TOT course lasting not less than six 6 months from a recognised Institution;
• Membership to a relevant professional body and in good standing where applicable;
• Proficiency in computer applications; and
• Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
