Job Description

• The Senior Information Technologist, KEWI 6 reports to the Principal Information Technologist KEWI 5.

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -

• Preparing laboratory practical schedules;
• Installing software at the laboratory;
• Maintaining of laboratory equipment;
• Maintaining laboratory records /reports;
• Conducting research and related consultancy in technical training;
• Preparation of laboratory manuals; and
• Preparing laboratory reports.

Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -

• Served for a cumulative period of nine 9 years relevant work experience, three 3 of which should have been at the grade of Information Technologist I or in a comparable position;
• Diploma in any of the following disciplines: information communications technology, business information technology or computer science related fields from a recognised institution;
• Certification in networking in CISCO or any Microsoft certification;
• Membership to a relevant professional body and in good standing where applicable; and
• Shown Merit and ability reflected in work performance and results.
