Job Summary:
- We are hiring a motivated and resourceful Sales Representative to support product availability, order booking, and distribution coordination across hospitals, pharmacists, stockists, and distributors. This role is crucial in ensuring that our products are present, accessible, and moving efficiently through both private and institutional channels. Unlike a medical representative, this role does not require scientific detailing but focuses heavily on commercial activities, supply chain coordination, and relationship-building in the trade segment.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Order Booking:
- Generate product sales by meeting purchase officers, pharmacists, distributors, and wholesalers
- Regularly book orders, collect purchase requirements, and ensure smooth coordination with supply/logistics teams
- Meet monthly sales and collection targets as per the assigned territory
Hospital & Trade Channel Coverage:
- Ensure product availability in key hospitals private and government, pharmacies, and distributor points
- Monitor stock movement, shelf visibility, and expiration management
- Follow up on deliveries, supply schedules, and inventory gaps
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build strong relationships with pharmacists, procurement officers, store in-charges, and key stockists
- Provide pricing information, schemes, and handle basic commercial negotiations
- Resolve supply-related issues in coordination with the back-office or warehouse team
Market Intelligence & Reporting:
- Gather competitor pricing, availability, and activity updates and share timely insights with managers
- Maintain visit reports, sales data, and customer feedback
Job Requirements
Candidate Profile:
- Education: Minimum KCSE; Diploma in Sales/Marketing is an added advantage
- Experience: 2–5 years in pharma sales/distribution/retail or FMCG trade sales
- Location Familiarity: Should have good local knowledge and network in Nairobi’s pharmacy and hospital circuits
Key Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confident in commercial negotiations and follow-ups
- Good organizational and coordination ability
- Target-driven and hands-on with customer engagement
- Basic mobile or Excel reporting skills optional but preferred
