Project Officer Job. UN Jobs In Kenya
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and evaluate assigned programmes/projects. Monitor progress, analyze implementation challenges, and propose corrective actions. Ensure timely follow-up with relevant stakeholders.
 - Conduct consulting assignments in collaboration with clients, facilitate workshops, lead interactive sessions, and support the development of actionable change management strategies.
 - Gather, analyze, and present information from diverse sources. Support policy development through issue analysis, trend evaluation, and preparation of research studies and evaluations.
 - Design and implement survey initiatives, develop data collection tools, analyze responses, and identify key findings to support decision-making.
 - Prepare high-quality written outputs, including background papers, analytical reports, and contributions to publications.
 - Provide substantive support to consultative meetings, conferences, and workshops by preparing agendas, identifying participants, and coordinating documents and presentations. • Lead outreach activities, conduct training sessions, facilitate seminars, and deliver presentations on relevant topics.
 - Lead and participate in complex field missions, providing guidance to external consultants, government officials, and other stakeholders while preparing mission reports and summaries.
 - Coordinate budget-related activities, including programme/project funding proposals, financial reporting, and preparation of key budget-related documents.
 - Support in the resource mobilization efforts by identifying funding opportunities and developing project proposals,

Qualifications/special skills
- Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in architecture, civil engineering, urban and regional planning, economics or physical sciences relevant to development and management of human settlements or a related field is required.
 - A first-level university degree in combination with qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
 - A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in human settlements, project or programme management or related field is required.
 - Experience working in or familiarity with the regional context, including urban development challenges in East Africa, is an added advantage
 - Proven experience in human settlements development fields, projects/programme design and implementation with the UN or other international agencies is desirable.
