Major Duties

Force Protection Program Responsibilities 70%

  • FPD Kenya is a regional entity covering the entire country and travel will be required to cover Force Protection FP responsibilities throughout Kenya to other international locations. FP responsibilities will include, but not be limited to personnel protection, investigative assistance, liaison, coordination, and arranging and attending meetings or conferences with very senior, high-level host nation officials government, police, military, etc. to include senior officials within the diplomatic community.
  • Additionally, incumbent will conduct security assessments, vetting of personnel working with or supporting U.S. DoD etc. Responsible for directing, implementing, coordinating, and overseeing a major segment of the FPD program wide including; TDY/In-Transit Forces Support, Liaison, Security Assessments and updates, Exercise and Training Support, Arming and Investigations Support.

 Financial Duties 20%

  • Responsible for developing, implementing, monitoring, and managing the FPD budget – annual budget estimate of more than U.S $500K. Monitor spending and ensure FPD is on track to execute all fiscal year FY funds during each FY.  

Information Systems Management 10%

  • Responsible for operation of assigned computer systems and databases to include E-2, MyServices, ILMS, Ariba, and others as required. Reviews open-source media outlets as well as daily messages for any/all information pertinent to force protection related matters. Analyze information and discern which reports need to be shared with FPD Chief for further review/dissemination. . Incumbent will input relevant information in FPD databases. Maintain and update all other relevant databases as requested/required.
  • NOTE: This position description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by incumbent. Incumbent will be required to perform duties as assigned by the FPD management.

Qualifications and Evaluations

Requirements:

  • All selected candidates must be able to obtain and hold a:
  • security certificate; or Public Trust  security clearance. 

Education Requirements:

  • Two years college studies are required.

Experience:

  • Five years administrative experience. Experience using spreadsheets with demonstrated basic accounting skills and experience analyzing information to identify job related content is required. Must have experience  within U.S. Embassy and/or international organization or multinational organization.
