Entry Requirements:
An officer at this level shall report to Manager Corporate Communications.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Managing stakeholder relations, promoting partnerships in tree growing, managing external correspondences and customer care.
- Conducting stakeholder’s research
- Coordinating the outreach programs/activities by providing answers to frequently asked questions FAQs, and service queries
- Incorporating online tools and in-person networking to create relationships and ultimately build the KFS brand, both online and off line
- Content creation in collaboration with process owners – writing online posts, articles, newsletters, communications materials, and material for social media channels
- Social media public relations and communications– creating, managing and growing the Service presence through Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and other strategically relevant online properties
- Events and event planning– coordinating industry events and managing exhibitions, open days and other corporate events.
- Managing incoming media requests and building relationships with industry journalists; creating, executing and measuring media campaigns
- Managing any online feedback forums
- Implementing strategic communications plans and supporting the Service to manage its corporate image.
- Advising on internal and external communication channels.
- Managing the Service CSR activities and facilitating CSR activities by stakeholders.

Additional Information:
Person specification
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Social Sciences, Journalism, International Relations or other related fields of study from a recognized institution
- Master’s degree in Communication, Social Sciences, Journalism, International Relations or another relevant course from a recognized institution
- Management course of not less than four 4 weeks.
- Eight 8 years relevant work experience out of which 3 years should be at the level of management
- Member of professional body –PRS
- Knowledge in environmental matters as added advantage
- Meets the requirement of chapter six of the constitution
- Fulfils the requirements of chapter of the constitution of Kenya
Skills and Attributes
- Conversant with the requirements of Chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
- Member of a professional association such as PRSK
- Good oral and written communication skills in Kiswahili and English
- Time management and proper planning
- Good analytical skills
- Skills in resource mobilization and stakeholder engagement
- Policy implementation, target setting and delivery of work plans
- Team player
