Plant Mechanic Job. Engineering Jobs In Kenya
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections and diagnostic tests on trucks, forklifts, and wheel loaders to identify faults and necessary repairs.
- Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Replace worn-out or defective parts and components as needed.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
- Troubleshoot any of the mechanical/electrical/hydraulic/panel beating issues efficiently to minimize equipment downtime.
- Diagnose complex problems using diagnostic tools and manuals.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed.
- Document parts usage and inventory to ensure adequate stock levels.
- Provide detailed reports on equipment condition, maintenance activities, and repair histories.
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
- Comply with company policies and procedures related to equipment operation and maintenance.
- Coordinate with other mechanics and technicians to prioritize repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Work closely with other departments to address equipment-related issues promptly.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Technical certification or diploma in automotive or mechanical engineering.
- Trade test (I) /(II)/(III) - Automotive Mechanic/Electrical/Panel Beating.
Knowledge and Skills
- Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow technical manuals and specifications.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
- Effective communication skills and teamwork abilities
