Plant Mechanic Job. Engineering Jobs In Kenya

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine inspections and diagnostic tests on trucks, forklifts, and wheel loaders to identify faults and necessary repairs.
  • Perform repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Replace worn-out or defective parts and components as needed.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and longevity.
  • Troubleshoot any of the mechanical/electrical/hydraulic/panel beating issues efficiently to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Diagnose complex problems using diagnostic tools and manuals.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed.
  • Document parts usage and inventory to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Provide detailed reports on equipment condition, maintenance activities, and repair histories.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures related to equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Coordinate with other mechanics and technicians to prioritize repairs and maintenance tasks.
  • Work closely with other departments to address equipment-related issues promptly.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Technical certification or diploma in automotive or mechanical engineering.
  • Trade test (I) /(II)/(III) - Automotive Mechanic/Electrical/Panel Beating.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Proficiency in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow technical manuals and specifications.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
  • Effective communication skills and teamwork abilities
