Job Summary

Reporting to the General Manager, Commercial Services, the job holder is responsible for orchestrating the company's diversification strategies. These duties include overseeing the development and implementation of diversified projects, monitoring their progress, and evaluating their impact.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and review Company’s diversification Policy and Strategies to drive business growth and expansion.
  • Identify, develop and implement diversification projects in accordance with technical, regulatory and financial requirements.
  • Identify and manage risks associated with the diversification projects.
  • Map and manage projects stakeholders including government agencies, investors and other partners to ensure smooth completion of any such projects.
  • Foster collaboration and partnerships with private and public entities for smooth realization of diversification projects.
  • Monitor implementation of the diversification projects suggesting possible corrective measures and reporting on project progress and performance.
  • Oversee the implementation of the development of the KenGen Green Energy Park.
  • Oversee the implementation of the Commercial Drilling and Consultancy Contracts.
  • Provide overall technical and commercial guidance to the diversification project implementation teams.
  • Manage Divisional Staff; prepare and manage the Divisional Budget.

 Person Specifications

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -

  • Experience of twelve 12 years working experience in the energy sector, four 4 of which should be at middle management level in a large organization.
  • Master’s degree in engineering, energy management, project management, and business administration from a recognized institution.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration or any related field from a recognized university.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body, with applicable qualifications.
  • Management course minimum 4 weeks from a recognized institution.
  • Skills: Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Knowledge of Key Regulations in Energy, Finance, procurement and governance 
  • Must fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution.
