Qualifications
- Earned PhD in Journalism and Media Studies or related area from an accredited University
- Atleast three (3) years teaching experience at university level or in research.
- Evidence of active Participation in Schools/departmental activites or demonstrated leadership in University Activities
- Evidence of attendance & contribution at learned conferences, seminars or workshops
- Registered with the relevant professional body.
- A minimum of 24 publication points, of which at least 16 points should be from refered journal papers
- Demonstration of teaching abilities in specific areas of Journalism Practice, Journalism and Media concepts, as well as reporting and writing for media for various platforms: Print Media, Digital Media, Editing, Publishing and Design, Photojournalism, Creative Graphics, and Advertising, Specialised Journalism Fields, including Data Journalism.

Responsibilities
- Conduting quality research to enhance the scholarship, visibility and intellectual contribution of the University.
- Engaging in curriculum and program review and development.
- Ensuring consistent Christian behavior in line with the university's vision.
- Evaluating students through continuous assessments and examinations.
- Implementing best practices in teaching, training and reasearch for improved perfomance and achievements.
- Implementing change initiatives to achieve desired university strategic goals.
- Mentoring of students in academic and spiritual nurture
- Mobilizing resources and building bridges with industry.
- Teaching and training of students in line with University policies, processes and procedures
