Job Description

• The Lecturer, KEWI 1 reports to the Senior Lecturer KEWI 6.

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -

• Implementing curriculum and training manuals;
• Preparing teaching/learning materials and schemes of work;
• Lecturing in the area of specialization in accordance with the syllabus;
• Setting and marking examinations/assignments;
• Carrying out research work under the guidance and supervision of a senior trainer;
• Implementing guidelines for students with special needs;
• Preparing students progress reports;
• Conducting student academic mentorship programmes; and
• Developing and maintaining class registers.

Person Specifications

• For appointment to this grade an officer must have: -
• At least three 3 years relevant work experience at the grade of Lecturer II or in a comparable position;
• Bachelor’s degree in Irrigation Engineering or its equivalent qualification from a recognised University;
• Certificate in Training of trainers TOT course lasting not less than six 6 months from a recognised Institution;
• Proficiency in computer applications; and
• Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
