Job Description
The Laundry Personnel will be responsible for ensuring hospital linen, staff uniforms, and patient clothing are properly cleaned, disinfected, and maintained in line with hospital standards. They will play a vital role in infection prevention and creating a safe, hygienic environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and iron hospital linen, uniforms, and patient garments.
- Operate and maintain laundry machines and related equipment safely.
- Ensure proper use of detergents, disinfectants, and other cleaning agents.
- Adhere to infection prevention and control protocols in handling contaminated linen.
- Ensure timely delivery of clean linen to hospital departments.
- Monitor laundry supplies and report stock needs to the supervisor.
- Report damages, machine breakdowns, or worn-out linen.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- KCSE Certificate or equivalent.
- Certificate in laundry services/housekeeping or relevant training added advantage.
- At least 1 year of experience in laundry operations hospital or hotel setting preferred.
- Knowledge of infection prevention and control IPC is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate laundry machines and handle linen with care.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be a committed Seventh-day Adventist.
