Job Purpose

• Responsible for implementation of all land survey and mapping matters for various projects being undertaken by the Authority and protection of the Authority’s land assets through cadastral title survey.

Job Description

• Carrying out basic survey field assignments-mapping and establishing survey controls;
• Undertaking small and medium area cadastral, topographical surveys, sub-divisional schemes, site and general engineering surveys;
• Undertaking preliminary quality control of cadastral and general boundary surveys;
• Searching for and compiling of required survey data information from relevant government institution;
• Carrying out field observations using various survey equipment e.g. Automatic level, Total Station and Global Positioning System GPS;
• Processing of filed survey data;
• Creating maps, plans and drawings;
• Preparation of field survey reports;
• Maintenance of survey instruments.

Job Specifications

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Surveying and Photogrammetry,Geomatics,Geo-spatial Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• Graduate membership with the Institution of Surveyors of KenyaISK,Land Surveyors or Engineering Surveyors Chapter;
• Valid Practicing Certificate from Lands Surveyor’s Board LSB OF Kenya;
• A letter of good standing from the Institution of Surveyors of Kenya; and
• Proficiency in computer applications
