Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting, editing and proofreading content for internal and external communications materials
  • Supporting the preparation of communication materials to support outreach, advocacy efforts and knowledge sharing such as articles, newsletters, briefs, and social media content for Human Resources.
  • Support in conducting research, compilation and preparation of summaries of various HR related topics and discussions.
  • Support the preparation of background documents, agendas, and logistic presentations for events and meetings related to HRTU briefings, and training sessions.
  • Assist with communication support for events, workshops and campaigns.
  • Attend meetings and events as needed and prepare summaries or reports of key discussions and outcomes.
  • Assist in compiling and analyzing data and documents.
  • Support in responding to general and HR related inquiries.
  • Provide assistance on various administrative tasks e.g., formatting spreadsheets, proofreading text documents, searching archives, running basic reports, etc.
  • Support in reviewing and updating information on the relevant websites for ease of access.
  • Maintain organized records of communications.
  • Assist with file management.
  • Performing any other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications/special skills

  • Applicants must at the time of application, meet one of the following requirements:
  • Be enrolled in a graduate school programme second university degree or equivalent, or higher,
  • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent,
  • Have graduated with Bachelor's degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent. Be computer literate in standard software applications Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Have demonstrated a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
  • Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which includes a willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
  • Preferred areas of study: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Media Studies or any other related fields Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required.
