Job Summary:

The Human Resource Officer will manage and support the day to day HR operations, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures and employment laws. This role involves recruitment, employee relations, performance management and HR administration. The HR Officer will act as a key resource to employees and management, helping to foster a positive work environment and implement HR initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Staffing:

  • Assist with the recruitment process, including advertising job vacancies, screening resumes, conducting interviews and preparing job offers.
  • Ensure the timely hiring of new employees in line with organizational needs and budgets.
  • Manage onboarding processes for new hires, ensuring smooth integration into the company.

Employee relations:

  • Acts as the first point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries and concerns.
  • Assist in resolving employee issues and conflicts, ensuring fair and consistent handling of workplace situations.
  • Promote employee engagement and satisfaction through feedback, surveys and improvement initiatives.

Performance Management:

  • Support the implementation and management of performance appraisal systems.
  • Provide guidance and support to managers in conducting performance reviews and setting development goals.
  • Monitor employee performance and help in addressing performance-related issues.

Training and Development:

  • Coordinate and track employee training and development programs.
  • Work with department heads to identify skill gaps and support learning initiatives.
  • Encourage continuous professional development and ensure employees have access to relevant training resources.

HR Administration:

  • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complaint with data protection regulations.
  • Prepare HR related reports, attendance and recruitment metrics.
  • Assist with payroll preparation and ensure timely and accurate processing.

Compliance and policy implementation:

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
  • Assist the development and communication of HR policies and procedures.
  • Support the implementation of health and safety regulations within the workplace.

Other HR Functions:

  • Manage employee benefits programs and assist with any inquiries related to benefits.
  • Help manage employee leave and attendance tracking systems.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive organizational culture.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource, Business administration or related field.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in a HR role.
  • Knowledge of labor laws, employment regulations and HR best practices.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HR software (HRIS)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Detail orient with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
