Role Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and versatile Hospital Coverage Nurse to assist in the daily running of hospital operations. The successful candidate will support both clinical and non-clinical activities, ensuring smooth coordination of inpatient care, administrative functions, and operational efficiency. This role is ideal for a proactive nurse who is organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about maintaining high standards of patient care and hospital service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing support and oversight for daily hospital operations.
  • Conduct regular ward rounds and assist in patient assessment, monitoring, and care coordination.
  • Support nursing teams to ensure quality care delivery and adherence to clinical protocols.
  • Assist in administrative and operational duties, including documentation, coordination of services, and communication across departments.
  • Participate in ensuring compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and patient safety standards.
  • Support smooth shift handovers, admissions, and discharges.
  • Assist management in implementing quality improvement initiatives and service optimization.
  • Actively help resolve any issues and be the central point of communication.
  • Act as a liaison between nursing staff, management, and consultants where required.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from a recognized institution.
  • Valid registration and practicing license with the Nursing Council of Kenya NCK.
  • Minimum 3-4 years’ experience in a hospital setting.
  • Previous experience in hospital coordination or administrative or covering nursing roles is highly desirable.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support BLS or Advanced Cardiac Life Support ACLS is an added advantage.
