Job Purpose
The Games Manager will be responsible for overseeing the games and entertainment section at GMC Place-Kitengela, ensuring a safe, engaging, and enjoyable experience for children and families. This role involves managing the games team, designing fun and educational activities, enforcing safety standards, and fostering a positive environment for kids. The ideal candidate should have a background in Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) or Education, Psychology, and Child Management while demonstrating excellent leadership and organizational skills.

Responsibilities
Games & Entertainment Management
- Design, plan, and implement engaging games, activities, and events tailored to different age groups.
 - Ensure a variety of fun, educational, and interactive games that promote children's cognitive and physical development.
 - Continuously innovate and improve game concepts to enhance customer satisfaction and engagement.
 - Supervise daily operations of the games section, ensuring smooth execution of all activities.
 - Monitor and maintain the quality of gaming equipment, ensuring they are in excellent working condition.
 
Child Engagement & Safety
- Create a fun, safe, and nurturing environment for children and families visiting GMC Kitengela Fun Place.
 - Apply child psychology knowledge to understand children’s behavior and manage their interactions effectively.
 - Ensure children are engaged in games that foster creativity, teamwork, and personal development.
 - Enforce safety protocols, ensuring all games and play areas meet health and safety standards.
 - Train the games team on best practices for child supervision and behavior management.
 
Team Leadership & Staff Coordination
- Recruit, train, and supervise a dynamic games and entertainment team.
 - Assign duties and shifts to staff, ensuring efficient workflow and coverage.
 - Conduct regular staff training on child psychology, safety measures, customer service, and game facilitation.
 - Motivate and inspire the team to deliver exceptional experiences for children and families.
 - Handle team performance evaluations and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
 
Customer Service & Experience Enhancement
- Ensure excellent customer service by training staff on child-friendly communication and engagement techniques.
 - Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
 - Develop strategies to improve customer retention and enhance the overall fun experience at GMC.
 - Collaborate with other departments (marketing, events, and food service) to create family-oriented packages and experiences.
 
Business & Operational Management
- Monitor games section revenue and develop strategies to maximize profitability.
 - Work with the procurement team to ensure timely purchase and maintenance of games equipment.
 - Track and analyze visitor participation in games and adjust activities accordingly.
 - Prepare and submit weekly and monthly performance reports to the General Manager.
 - Ensure compliance with all company policies, regulations, and safety guidelines.
 
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE), Education, Psychology, Child Development, Recreation Management, or a related field.
 - Experience: At least 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a kids’ entertainment facility, school, or recreation center.
 - Strong leadership experience in managing a games/entertainment team.
 - Experience in planning and executing child-friendly events and programs.

- Child Management & Psychology: Strong understanding of children's behavior and developmental needs.
 - Games & Activities Management: Ability to design and implement engaging and safe games for kids.
 - Customer Service Orientation: A strong focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences.

 - Safety & Risk Management: Knowledge of child safety procedures and first aid.
 - Customer Service Excellence: Ability to handle parents and children professionally and courteously.
 - Communication & Problem-Solving: Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
 - Creativity & Innovation: Ability to introduce new game ideas and entertainment experiences.
 - Business Acumen: Understanding of revenue generation, budgeting, and cost control.
 
Working Conditions
- The role requires frequent interaction with children, parents, and the games team.
 - Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with children of all ages.
 - Availability to work on weekends, holidays, and peak entertainment seasons as required in the entertainment industry.
 - Ability to stand for long hours and actively engage in games and activities.
