Job Description
- The Cook I, KEWI 10 reports to the Senior Cook, KEWI 9.
Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -
- Ensuring proper storage of food stuffs;
- Setting up of food service areas and placement of food in serving lines;
- Supervising and replenishing food stuffs during service;
- Recording and reporting low stock levels;
- Detecting and reporting spoilt or unattractive food; and
- Detecting and reporting defective equipment.
Person Specifications
- For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -
- Served for a cumulative period of six 6 years relevant work experience of, three 3 at the grade of Cook II or in a comparable position;
- Certificate in any of the following Courses: - Food Production, Food and Beverage Production, Catering and Hotel Management or equivalent qualification lasting not less than six 6 months from a recognised institution;
- Certificate of medical examination in line with the Food, Drugs and Chemical Substance Act;
- Proficiency in computer applications; and
- Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
