Our client is looking to hire a Brand Manager who will build and manage commercial relations with key channels and be the point of contact regarding company business.
Lead the efficient execution of the company’s goals and objectives in respective channels. Lead the development and execution of brand/category solutions and activities for Modern Trade & GT based on fully integrated, shopper, customer, and channel insights. Establish, own, build and lead the sales team responsible for executing sales and promotional campaigns that will drive growth through product sales throughout the country. Be overall in charge of company business in Trade channels and execute agreed strategies and overall sales management.

Main duties and responsibilities:

Relationship Management

  • Be the primary liaison (lead point of contact) for all channel managers regarding account management matters.
  • Build, nurture and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships between the company and key decision-makers in the respective channels for company categories.

Supervisory Role

  • Work together with the HOD Partner Brands & Channel Managers in conducting monthly team performance reviews, in addition to executing agreed actions within set timelines.
  • Schedule, structured business review meetings, ensuring all actions are carried out within agreed timeframes.
  • Provide strategy, focus and solutions to listing and placement of products, by supporting Channel Managers through performance updates, to close listings.

Performance Management and Reporting

  • Continuously provide strategic insights into brand performance:
    • respective categories,
    • wider market,
    • channels,
    • Customers served.
    • competitive environment

  • Develop specific focused strategies and actions to achieve the key performance indicators, with the support of functional heads, track KPIs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Lead JBP planning process & execution to ensure the right KPIs are locked with the key outlets and communication downstream is clear to the Merchandising team & account managers.
  • Drive the accomplishment of the key performance indicators including sales revenue, sales volume, and product availability for the brand.
  • Work with the Modern trade reps & ASMs in liaison with Head of General Trade, Trade Marketing and Modern Trade Managers, to ensure the sales team is focused and updated on the deliverables of the company Brand.
  • Conduct gap analysis and identify relevant actions to address and close on noted gaps; take advantage of opportunities to realise growth and continually improve.
  • Take lead in driving listing & availability of the must have SKUs per target store and liaise with Trade Marketing Manager, General Trade and Modern Trade Managers to ensure speed to market in execution.
  • Lead monthly review meetings and report on key performance indicators, indicating monthly performance versus target in addition to cumulative (year-to-date) performance.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and analyse data to achieve appropriate decision making for strategic and tactical plans.
  • Oversee and deliver successful product launches, listings, and activations as and when required.
  • Proactively identify and analyse problems: weigh relevance and accuracy of information; generate and evaluate alternative solutions; make recommendations, consult Head of Partner Brands for further guidance when policy decisions are to be made.
  • Maintain the strictest level of confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with information concerning the company including performance, pricing, marketing plans, new products development, salaries, and any other information.
  • Perform other duties as allocated.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Sales, Marketing, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Sales or Marketing management role (experience in Trade Marketing is an added advantage).
  • Proven sales success record within a major FMCG company with excellent understanding and an in-depth knowledge of the market and the changing environment.
  • Strong commercial understanding with intellect and curiosity.
  • Proactive and assertive with strong relational and networking skills.
  • Strong time management and self-motivation skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and to meet strict deadlines under minimal supervision.
  • Have a valid driving license; be able and willing to travel across the designated regions.
