Role Summary:

  • As a Data Infrastructure Specialist, the Analytics Engineer will design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines, optimize data models, write sueries to create reports, and enhance Poa's data warehouse efficiency. This role ensures seamless access to reliable and actionable insights that drive impactful data storytelling and decision-making.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Scalable Data Pipelines: Design, implement, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to process large datasets, reducing data latency by 30% and improving query efficiency.
  • Cloud Data Integration: Leverage Google Cloud Platform tools (BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Data Fusion) to implement integrations for enhanced data processing and accessibility.
  • Data Warehouse Optimization: Improve SQL query performance, reduce query execution time by at least 20%, and ensure cost-effective storage.
  • Data Governance & Reliability: Maintain 99.9% uptime for data pipelines and implement data quality checks to reduce inconsistencies by 90%.
  • Support Advanced Analytics: Develop infrastructure to support predictive analytics and churn modeling, ensuring seamless data access for business users.
  • Training & Mentorship: Train and mentor Analytics Associates on data modeling and transformation best practices in BigQuery, ensuring at least 80% self-sufficiency in writing queries and optimizing datasets.

Key competencies required for the role:

  • Expertise in writing, optimizing, and troubleshooting complex SQL queries for data transformation and reporting in BigQuery.
  • Strong knowledge of Google Cloud Platform tools, including BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, and Cloud Data Fusion.
  • Ability to extract, transform, and load data for analytics teams, supporting insightful data storytelling.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with analytics, research, software, and product teams to ensure accessible and valuable data.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity, prioritize competing tasks, and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
  • Understanding of data security, compliance, and governance best practices.
  • Growth mindset—proactively seeks feedback, adjusts, and learns quickly.

Qualifications Required:

  • Diploma or Degree in a relevant field

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Hands-on experience working with Google Cloud Platform tools (BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc) to support analytics at scale.
  • 2+ years of experience building and maintaining data pipelines, ensuring data quality and reliability.
