About the role

  • The Aftersales Service Lead Technician is responsible for supervising diagnosis, repairs, refurbishing, grading, scrapping, and quality assurance of returned induction cookers to ensure they meet defined functional, cosmetic, and firmware standards before reissue. The role focuses on ensuring high first-time fix rates, strict SOP adherence, accurate documentation, and efficient line utilisation to support scalable refurbishment operations.

Duties and Responsibilities
Lead Technical Refurbishment & Repair

  • Diagnose electrical, electronic, firmware, and cosmetic faults in returned induction cookers.
  • Perform component-level repairs, replacements, cleaning, and cosmetic restoration.
  • Flash, update, or verify firmware in line with approved versions and SOPs.
  • Conduct functional testing to confirm full operational compliance before QC handover.

 Enforce Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure all refurbished units meet defined quality grades and pass final QC checks.
  • Follow approved refurbishment SOPs, safety standards, and ESD procedures at all times.
  • Prevent rework by ensuring repairs are completed correctly the first time.

 Ensure Documentation & Traceability

  • Accurately record diagnostics, repairs performed, parts used, firmware versions, and final status in refurbishment systems.
  • Maintain full traceability for each unit processed.

 Oversee Productivity & Line Efficiency

  •  Meet daily and weekly refurbishment targets while maintaining quality standards.
  • Actively support optimal line utilisation by minimising idle time and rework.
  • Flag recurring defects, process gaps, or component failures for RCA and continuous improvement.

 Promote Collaboration & Continuous Improvement

  • Work closely with QC, warehouse, and operations teams to ensure smooth unit flow.
  • Support process improvements and training initiatives as refurbishment scales.

Skills and Experience

  • Diploma or Certificate in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
  • Hands-on experience repairing consumer electronics induction cookers, appliances, or similar devices preferred.
  • Strong understanding of PCB-level troubleshooting, power electronics, and sensors.
  • Ability to follow firmware flashing and validation procedures accurately.
  • High attention to detail and quality mindset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  • Leadership and Performance management skills.
  • Good documentation and reporting skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills
  • 1–3 years’ experience in electronics repair, refurbishing, or manufacturing/after-sales service.
  • Prior experience in refurbishment or production-line environments is an added advantage.
