POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for supporting the finance department in managing the day-to-day financial operations of the Beacon of Hope school and Technical Training Institute. The incumbent will be responsible for handling day-to-day financial operations, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and supporting compliance with accounting standards and institutional policies. This position plays a critical role in promoting transparency, accountability, and financial efficiency, while aligning with the broader strategic goals and educational mission of BOH.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit monthly financial and petty cash reports.
 - Reconcile and maintain petty cash systems for various departments.
 - Generate bi-weekly sales reports from the Hospitality Department.
 - Invoice and receipt student payments through the Student Management Information System SMIS.
 - Compile departmental requisitions and follow up with the main account’s office.
 - Assist in internal and external audit preparations.
 - Support compliance with financial policies and procedures.
 
Qualifications and Experience:
- Higher Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
 - CPA part I
 - Minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience, preferably in a school set-up, college or university.
 
Key Competencies:
- Proficient in QuickBooks and student management systems.
 - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and reporting skills.
 - High level of integrity and attention to detail.
 - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
 - Fluent in English and Kiswahili spoken and written.
 - Strong interest or experience in academic instruction is a plus.
