POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for supporting the finance department in managing the day-to-day financial operations of the Beacon of Hope school and Technical Training Institute. The incumbent will be responsible for handling day-to-day financial operations, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and supporting compliance with accounting standards and institutional policies. This position plays a critical role in promoting transparency, accountability, and financial efficiency, while aligning with the broader strategic goals and educational mission of BOH.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit monthly financial and petty cash reports.
  • Reconcile and maintain petty cash systems for various departments.
  • Generate bi-weekly sales reports from the Hospitality Department.
  • Invoice and receipt student payments through the Student Management Information System SMIS.
  • Compile departmental requisitions and follow up with the main account’s office.
  • Assist in internal and external audit preparations.
  • Support compliance with financial policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Higher Diploma in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • CPA part I
  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience, preferably in a school set-up, college or university.

Key Competencies:

  • Proficient in QuickBooks and student management systems.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and reporting skills.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • Fluent in English and Kiswahili spoken and written.
  • Strong interest or experience in academic instruction is a plus.
