We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to oversee the financial operations of the organization. The ideal candidate will ensure the accuracy, compliance, and strategic use of financial data to support organizational growth. The Accountant will be responsible for timely financial reporting, managing budgets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing strategic insights to enhance decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and present monthly management accounts, financial statements, and reports in compliance with IFRS.
- Consolidate branch-level trial balances, income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct monthly variance analysis and prepare reports for the Board, funders, and regulators.
- Support annual and quarterly reporting processes, including audits and statutory submissions.
- Generate insightful financial health reports to guide strategic decision-making.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Collaborate with the Head of Finance to develop annual budgets and five-year forecasts.
- Monitor budget implementation, ensure departmental compliance, and analyze variances.
- Provide forward-looking insights on organizational financial performance.
Financial Controls & Compliance
- Manage payment processes, tax filings, and financial transactions.
- Ensure accurate bank reconciliations, asset management, and maintenance of financial schedules.
- Implement strong internal controls and ensure compliance with financial policies and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and maintain audit-ready documentation.
Technology & Tools
- Use ERP systems and advanced accounting software for financial reporting and planning.
- Apply data analytics and visualization tools to inform financial decisions and forecasting.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with branch administrators, managers, senior leadership, auditors, funders, and regulators.
- Present financial insights and recommendations to stakeholders to support strategic initiatives.

Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or related field.
- CPA (K) certification is mandatory.
- 3–5 years of progressive experience in accounting, preferably in the microfinance or banking sector.
- Solid knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting best practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and time management skills.
