Position Overview

  • The Accountant I is an entry-level professional responsible for performing routine accounting tasks, maintaining financial records, and assisting with the preparation of reports. This role supports the finance department by ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in day-to-day accounting operations.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Record and maintain financial transactions in ledgers and accounting systems.
  • Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and assist with month-end closing.
  • Verify accuracy of invoices, expense reports, and other financial documents.
  • Assist in preparing financial statements, budgets, and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed.
  • Maintain organized filing systems for financial records.
  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and provide financial insights.
  • Help prepare and file tax returns
  • Support payroll processing salary calculations, deductions, tax withholdings.
  • Monitor accounts payable and receivable.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional certification CPA I or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and analytical skills.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • 5-7 Years experience on
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry.
  • Ability to prepare reconciliations and basic financial reports.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with colleagues and external stakeholders.
